How to Enroll
New registrations are accepted year round for students in all programs where space is available. Contacting us between the start of the calendar year and mid-spring, though, affords the best chance of placement. Prospective K-8 families should contact us at 518-792-3178 Ext. 3307 or or firstname.lastname@example.org. Prospective Pre-K/Daycare students should contact us at Ext. 1002, 518-792-7402, or email@example.com.
All prospective families and students are invited to visit and tour the school during our Learning Fair/Open House held in the spring or contact us to arrange for private tour and interview. Either gives new families and students the opportunity to meet us, and ask questions about our program in order to make an informed decision regarding placement. A Student visit is recommended for students entering Grade 3 and up. We find this is helpful for a child’s transition. We can provide a link to complete online registration if you would like to enroll after your tour and interview. Please review additional information below if your child will be transferring from another school into Grades 1-8.
APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Current Noah’s Ark families wishing to re-enroll their child(ren) for the following year, and younger siblings of current K-8 families, are encouraged to do so during Priority Registration (January 1-31). Open enrollment begins February 1st for current and new students in all programs. All parents are encouraged to enroll by March 1st to help us plan for the upcoming year. SMSA uses an online application process. A link will be provided to enroll. Please familiarize yourself with the required registration fees for the year here and create a FACTS account for billing purposes here. Students entering our Kindergarten program must be 5 years old by December 1st. Noah’s Ark accepts students ages 3-5 who are fully potty trained.
Transcripts and Health records
Academic and health records must be received and approved by the Admissions Team for any student transferring in from another school before admission is complete. We will ask you to complete a Request for Records Form, for us to obtain your child’s records.
Transportation, Book Forms (K-8), Supplies and Handbook
The deadline for Bus Request Forms is April 1st. Busing within 15 miles of the school is available to K-8 students from most local districts. We will provide you with a Textbook Loan Form so we can arrange for your child’s textbooks for the year. The School Supply List for all programs can be found here. SMSA updates the Student Handbook regularly. All families must submit a signed Handbook Signature Page at the beginning of the year to indicate they have read and agree to SMSA’s policies and procedures. Any updates to the handbook that may occur during the year are provided through SwiftReach.
